Time to finish up the antenna tower project. With the tower standing proud and the Cushcraft A3S tri-band beam assembled, it was time to run it up the waiting tramline and bolt it to the mast. With the u-bolts a bit less than finger-tight, I was able to push the antenna up the mast a little more to get it where I wanted it. Then, with the u-bolts just finger-tight, I used a compass to get it pointed North (taking magnetic declination into account) before tightening them up all the way. On my way down, I stopped to connect the a short whip of ultra-flexible coax that I had previously connected to the antenna to the less-flexible run of coax coming up the inside of the tower. Then, on my way down I dressed the coax and rotator control cable safely to the inside of one of the tower legs. Finally, it was time for tea and a rest while we admired our work. The antenna played great in November Sweeps 😀
